Dear Pedro,
we welcome all kind of proposals about the topic of this year, "Competition, Regulation, and Antitrust". I remember that the deadline is March 30 and that the selection will concern the proposals (of about 500 words). For the paper the authors will have other four months, because the conference text has to be sent us by July 31, 2008.
As in the past, the topic can be investigated by different perspectives, but -for evident reasons - in the previous editions a large numbers of the papers were written by economists. For the 2007 edition, for instance, you find the complete program here: http://www.brunoleoni.it/nextpage.aspx?title=yes&codice=0000001967
People interested can write me for any kind of other questions.

Do you think this kind of event would welcome a technical economics paper?
